Son of a Snowman – It’s COLD out there this morning

It was -8F when I got out to my car this morning and the frost was really hard to scrape off the windshield.  As I started off down the road, my low tire pressure light came on and all I could think was “No freakin’ kidding!”

Last night when Kim got home from work, it was -3F.  We had to play car switch around so that our cars were parked in the order of when we were leaving today.  Poor Kim!  She has never been in weather this cold before, and she was not dressed for it.  I handed over a pair of my wool socks and told her to wear them closest to her skin and then layer another pair over them if she needs to (I find that even one pair of good, wool socks keep my feet warmer than multiple layers of store-bought cotton or acrylic versions).  Also, she said she can wear her Northface coat under her new, wool one and that was what she was going to wear to work today.

I think I found a new person to knit socks for.  It warms my heart just thinking about it.

Stay warm my friends, and think wooly thought!

She will certainly love the feel and look of the wool but the warmth will sell her during your coldest part of winter!
