At first, I felt bad about not being able to spin on Monday because of work and teaching, but then I realized that I did get to spin, after all, but the other version.  I was on the bike at the fitness center Monday morning.  So, I’m still good for it, right?

This week’s Work in Progress is just my SIL’s socks,…

…which looks rather like the 1st sock I showed you on June 19th. I should have this sock done by the end of the weekend, and I hope before I get the yarn I am spinning all plied and ready to knit socks for me.

As for the Tour de Fleece, I have met my goals every day that I have been able to spin and am right on target to have the yarn spun and plied by Saturday night.  I won’t do any spinning on Sunday (the Tour de France’s rest day) because Sandy and I are doing a day of dyeing.  Beginning next week, I will begin my socks and hope to have the first sock done by the end of the day Saturday.  Right now I have the first bobbin of 2 ounces done and have spun half an ounce of the second bobbin.  My goal for today is to get a second half-ounce done and do the same for Thursday and Friday.  Saturday, I will ply the two bobbins full of singles together and set the twist.

If you live in the Indianapolis area, and especially south of Indy, there is going to be a Spin-In at Starstruck Cat Studios on Saturday, July 13, from 10 until 4.  Bring your wheel or your spindle and whatever project you are working on and join us.  I will not be teaching, but if you have questions, I’ll be happy to help.  You can drop in any time during the day and stay as long or as little as you want.  If you are not a spinner and would like to come and visit to see what spinning your own yarn is all about, please do!

And now for your chuckle.  Someone posted this on Twitter.  I guess they could call it Knitting Hero.
