I finally found the time to color this design.  Scott drew it the same day as the “We Who are about to Dye-Salute You!” one, so it has been in the wings for a while.  I’ve been told by some people who home-school their kids that they loved the concept, so here it is!!

We are supposed to get slammed today and tonight with nasty winter weather.  First we should start with rain that will change over to freezing rain, sleet and then snow and we could have up to 8″ of the fluffy stuff before getting up tomorrow.  Oh, BOY!!!  (dripping with sarcasm, here, folks!)

We are so close to the weekend I can taste it.  I woke up this morning all excited that I was going to get to wash another fleece this weekend and can hardly wait for tomorrow to get here.  This and another fleece from the same Corriedale sheep (two different years, of course) are destined to be shipped to the mill later this month, so I need to get them washed and all fluffified for that.  This sheep is a ram named Ule.  When I start washing it tomorrow morning, I’ll take a picture so you can see what color it is before being washed.  I’ll be curious to see how much the fleece will lighten with all the dirt out of it.  I’ll take samples of it pre-washed and after being washed and dried for my records.  Since I have two fleeces, I’m thinking about spinning them differently – one semi-worsted and the other long-draw (woolen).  In case you haven’t noticed, I have a bit of a scientist’s brain and love experiment and keeping records along the way for future reference.
